Noyer: French Banks Wont Need Extra Capital After Stress Tests

  e-mail

PARIS -(Dow Jones)- Bank of France Governor Christian Noyer said Monday that he doesn't expect French banks to need capital injections following European stress tests.

"I don't expect any particular need," Noyer told journalists as he presented the Bank of France's 2010 results.

However, he said the Bank of France won't be "complacent" on stress tests. The plan by the Irish authorities to inject capital in their banks after stress tests is "well calibrated and adequate," he added.
